The Denver Broncos got a big win over the Super Bowl champs last Sunday and now have a 3-2 record as they travel to take on the Jets in New Jersey. The Broncos come into this matchup as 7-point favorites against the winless Jets. So far, Courtland Sutton and JK Dobbins have been the best fantasy starters on the team, while Troy Franklin and RJ Harvey have flashed enough upside to get starting consideration in some leagues.
Troy Franklin start or sit: Week 6 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Troy Franklin ahead of Week 6

Below, we’ll go over Troy Franklin’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 6.
Fantasy Football analysis: Broncos, WR, Troy Franklin
Franklin’s usage is still behind Sutton, but he is clearly the No. 2 receiver and has stability in his snap rate. That’s half the batttle, but now we need to see him get more work. Can that happen in a game where his team will likely have plenty of opportunity to run the ball as 7-point favorites?
The good news for Franklin is that the Jets pass defense hasn’t been good this year, especially against No. 2/3 receivers. Last week we saw the Cowboys No. 3 receiver Ryan Flournoy go over 100 yards against them, Sterling Shepard and Emeka Egbuka both had strong games, along with Calvin Austin, while Mike Evans, Tyreek Hill, and George Pickens were all held in check for the most part. Overall, they have the worst DVOA and second worst EPA against the pass this year.
So, the matchup is great, but the need for Bo Nix to throw the ball a lot probably isn’t. Franklin just hasn’t been commanding the target numbers he’s needs to have a strong fantasy floor at this point. But, his ability does have a high fantasy upside that we’ve only seen once through five games. He’s right on the edge for me this week as a hopeful start or a realistic sit. Officially I’m rolling with sit, but if it’s between him and a player with very little upside, I’d click the start button.
