Ryan Flournoy start or sit: Week 6 fantasy football advice

The Dallas Cowboys are hurting on the offensive line and at receiver of late, but Dak Prescott has played great, helping his team get through this injury plagued stretch. One receiver to help make up for All Pro CeeDee Lamb’s absence is Ryan Flournoy. Flournoy stepped up last week against the Jets and caught a nice 6-of-9 targets for 114 yards. If he had put up that yardage on fewer targets, it might be easier to pass it off as a fluke, but the target numbers were significant.

Below, we’ll go over Ryan Flournoy’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 6.

The Cowboys face the Panthers are only three-point underdogs at home based on the Cowboys injuries and their awful defense. Amazingly, Carolina ranks second-best in fantasy points allowed to receivers, but that has a lot to do with how bad their run defense and offense has been. When you look closer, they’re 11th-worst when you adjust for schedule and 23rd in DVOA against the pass. If teams need to pass, they’ll be able to pass. And the Cowboys do like to pass the ball, as their QB is playing great at the moment.

Lamb will miss another game, but we could also see more work for George Pickens this week, which would hurt Flournoy. It looks like the Jets did what they could to slow down Pickens, which allowed Flournoy to flourish. If Flournoy had been getting these kinds of targets more than once, it would be easier to expect them again, but for this week we have to wonder if he’ll see a significant drop in work as the No. 3 receiver. He’s on my list for a possible flex spot if you’re hurting in deeper leagues, but it feels quite risky.
