The 1-4 New Orleans Saints host the 3-2 New England Patriots as 3.5-point home underdogs on Sunday. The Patriots are coming off a big win against the Bills and look to pad their win column with a matchup against a bad Saints team. This week they’ll get to face a less than 100% Alvin Kamara or no Alvin Kamara at all, as he is listed as questionable with an ankle injury.
Alvin Kamara injury: What status means for Week 6 vs. Patriots
Alvin Kamara is dealing with a ankle injury for Week 6. We break down what it means for fantasy football decisions.

Alvin Kamara injury updates
Kamara suffered his ankle injury early against the Giants last week and then had it swell up on Wednesday. He was able to get in limited practices all week though. On a team that isn’t in win now mode, they could be more willing to sit the veteran running back, especially with the team likely wanting to see what Kendre Miller can do in a feature role.
Fantasy football analysis
Kamara has still been seeing good workloads this season, but hasn’t been able to do all that much with them, in part due to the weakness of the offense as a whole. On the season he’s seen 70% of the running back snaps to 30% for Miller. Miller has been slightly better, but also doesn’t have the sample size that Kamara does.
This week they have a tough matchup against the Patriots, who have been good at stopping the run. They rank fifth-best in fantasy points allowed to the position and most of the analytics support that. At this point I feel it’s pretty cut and dry. If Kamara starts, you start him and if Kamara is out, you start Miller. Their upside isn’t great this week, but whoever starts should see a good number of touches.
