Does Bears’ head coach Ben Johnson have his David Montgomery in rookie Kyle Monangai? The last couple weeks it sure has started to lean that way, as the rookie has seen an increase in usage. That increase hit almost 50% of the snaps last week, which led to 16 touches for 83 yards and a touchdown for Monangai. The decrease in snaps didn’t seem to hurt D’Andre Swift, as he once again put up big numbers, with 20 touches for 125 yards and a touchdown as the lead back.

We break down the fantasy football outlook of Kyle Monangai ahead of Week 8

Of course, we can’t expect both backs to be strong starts each week, but we were just shown that it is a possibility. Their big games did come against a weak Saints defense. The good news is that they have another weak run defense on the slate this week.
Below, we’ll go over Kyle Monangai’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 8.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bears, RB, Kyle Monangai
The Ravens currently rank second-worst in fantasy points allowed to running backs. They’re also seventh-worst in DVOA and fifth-worst in EPA against the run this season. At this point we’re still not sure if Lamar Jackson is playing or not. If he doesn’t, it would likely help the running backs see more touches in a game the Bears would have an easier time competing in. But, either way, this is a good matchup and if Monangai continues to see the snaps he did last week, he is very much startable in a bye week shortened player pool.
