The 5-2 Philadelphia Eagles will host the 2-5 New York Giants as 7.5-point favorites on Sunday. The last time these two met was just two weeks ago in New Jersy, where they lost upstart rookies Jaxon Dart and Cam Skattebo 34-17. This week they’ll be back at home, but without their WR1 AJ Brown.

We break down the fantasy football outlook of Jahan Dotson ahead of Week 8

Wide receiver Devonta Smith will take over that top position and has the skill to put up big numbers in this matchup, while Brown’s spot will be taken by Jahan Dotson. Dotson of course gets a usage bump here, but is it enough to give him a start in a bye shortened week?

Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles, WR, Jahan Dotson
At this point there isn’t a lot to go on as to how many targets Dotson will see with Brown out. His snaps and routes run will go up, but we just haven’t seen Dotson ever get a big workload for the Eagles during a meaningful game. He has shown ability though, with big games when he was with the Commanders and last year in a Week 18 game against the Giants that the team rested starters in.
He still feels like a dart throw, but one that has a better shot at hitting than getting a big fat zero. Still, I believe there are plenty of better options out there that we can feel safer starting this week.
