Mark Andrews start or sit: Week 9 fantasy football advice

The Baltimore Ravens were able to give Lamar Jackson four extra days to heal his hamstring, as Tyler Huntley helped them to a win over the Bears last week. Jackson was able to get Weeks 5 through 8 off to get healthy and all signs point to him being a full go on Thursday night against an awful Dolphins pass defense.

That sounds like good news for tight end Mark Andrews, but can we trust the veteran tight end in our fantasy lineups after just one startable game this season?

Below, we’ll go over Mark Andrews’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 9.

So far this season, Andrews has averaged 3.4 receptions on 4.3 targets per game. Last week, his 34 yards on three receptions were his second highest yardage number on the season. His only touchdowns came in his one huge game in a high-scoring loss to Detroit in Week 3 when he caught all six targets for 91 yards and two scores. That also happened when Isaiah Likely was out with an injury. Likely is now completely back and sharing snaps evenly with Andrews. Last week, Andrews played 37 snaps and three targets, while Likely had 36 snaps and two targets.

Yes, getting Jackson back helps the offense, but Andrews’ fantasy upside is quite low at this point and he will need a touchdown to be relevant. I don’t like counting on touchdowns unless I have to.
