The San Francisco 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks in a Week 18 matchup for a whole lot of marbles. The winner clinches the NFC West title and will be the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff bracket. The loser will be a wild card team, sitting in either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed.

The 49ers have been perpetually banged up this season, and it is no different heading into Week 18. However, they should get a key offensive weapon back for the game. Tight end George Kittle is expected back after missing a week with an ankle injury.

The 49ers-Seahawks matchup kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, which means we’ll learn about inactives at approximately 6:30 p.m.

George Kittle injury update

Game status: George Kittle is ACTIVE for Week 18.

Kittle injured his ankle in the third quarter of the 49ers Week 16 matchup against the Colts. He did not return to the game after that and sat out last week’s game against the Bears. Last week, he sat out all three practices. He was given a questionable tag, but it was apparent from reports Sunday morning that he was not going to be able to go.

This week, Kittle was a limited participant in all three practice sessions. On Wednesday, Kittle told the assembled media that he felt “fabulous” and he “absolutely” expected to play against the Seahawks. Even if we take the quotation with a grain of salt, the chance to claim a No. 1 seed coupled with his ability to get some practice in seems like a strong indication he will play on Saturday night.

Fantasy football analysis

Kittle was putting together his best performance of the season before the injury in Week 16. He caught seven passes for a season high 115 yards and a touchdown. If you’re playing in a week 18 fantasy football championship, he’s worth sticking in your lineup. If you’re playing in DFS, the price might be a little high for what could be a tough matchup against a quality Seahawks defense. However, if the injury is your primary concern, it is no reason to avoid him.
