Kyren Williams, Blake Corum injury news: Who will start at running back for Rams in Week 18

The Los Angeles Rams are facing the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18 to close out the regular season, and they face some notable roster decisions. The running back is among them with Kyren Williams and Blake Corum both listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

The Rams are locked into a wild card and will be either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed. The 49ers loss to the Seahawks on Saturday night means that the Rams will be the No. 5 seed if they beat the Cardinals and the No. 6 seed if they lose to the Cardinals. Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Friday that he would play his starters, but the injury report suggests otherwise. The team has ruled out starting cornerback Josh Wallace and starting right guard Kevin Dotson, and numerous starters are listed as questionable.

Kyren Williams and Blake Corum both entered the week dealing with ankle injuries. Williams was limited in all three practice sessions this week and has a questionable designation heading into game day. Blake Corum sat out practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but then got in a limited session on Friday before getting his own questionable designation.

Corum seems on the wrong side of questionable and is likely to sit the regular season finale. Williams seems more likely to be able to go. If Williams plays the full game, he is a strong fantasy option — especially with Corum potentially sidelined. The question though is whether or not Williams plays the full game.

Ronnie Rivers and Jarquez Hunter are the two reserve options. Either could be an interesting dart throw in DFS or if you’re desperate in a fantasy football championship. The problem is that even if we know Williams will not play or only play limited snaps, it’s unclear which of Rivers or Hunter benefits. I would probably shy away from Williams given the uncertainty for the Rams.
