It was another wild weekend in fantasy football as one Eagles receiver blew up and another got blown up. The return of Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger went very well and the Chiefs put up a good fantasy football day.
Fantasy Football News Roundup, Week 6: DeSean Jackson’s Wild Day
Here’s your weekend roundup in the fantasy football world for Week 6.
Here’s your weekend roundup in the fantasy football world for Week 6.
DeSean Jackson injury comes after big day
Jackson was injured with a "severe concussion" against the Falcons on Sunday. Before the injury, though, he was able to rack up a pair of touchdowns.
He had two rushes for 44 yards and a score as well as one catch for 34 yards and a score.
Despite the injury he still goes home with a good fantasy football day.
Fantasy Chiefs?
The Chiefs offense hasn't been very good at all this season. The saving grace in fantasy football has been the play of Jamaal Charles who, despite limited carries, is on pace for a 1,200-plus yard season.
On Sunday, the Chiefs had four very good performances.
- QB Matt Cassel: 201 yards passing and 3 TDs
- WR Dwayne Bowe: 108 yards receiving, 2 TDs
- RB Thomas Jones: 100 yards rushing, 1 TD
- RB Jamaal Charles: 93 yards rushing
For one day at least the Chiefs were very good to fantasy football.
Calvin Johnson injury has no effect
Lions WR Calvin Johnson was a game time decision because of an injury suffered last week. We assumed he would play but figured he would be limited.
If he was limited, he sure didn’t show it.
Johnson had five catches for 146 yards and a touchdown including an 87-yard fourth quarter touchdown reception.
Ben Roethlisberger makes his return
Good news for those of you who were smart enough to draft Ben Roethlisberger despite his suspension (like me). He had a solid day against the Browns throwing for 257 yards and three scores.
There are some of you who will now have to make a decision on what to do at quarterback with Roethlisberger’s return.
If you're like me, and you drafted Brett Favre and Roethlisberger, then the decision is easy.
Kevin Kolb decision will hurt some fantasy owners
It's going to crush some fantasy football owners when Kevin Kolb goes back to the bench. In his two-game stretch with Michael Vick out with injury, he's been fantastic.
He was among the best fantasy football players on Sunday throwing for 326 yards on 23-of-29 passing and three touchdowns. He lit it up with WR Jeremy Maclin for 159 yards and two scores.
Kolb won’t be the starter when Vick is healthy and that’s going to hurt some fantasy owners because Kolb is playing like an elite quarterback right now.
