Brett Favre, Deion Branch And Steve Breaston Amongst The Big Names Listed As Active For 4 PM Games

Brett Favre's consecutive games started streak of 291 straight games, the current NFL record, looks like it will continue. Favre was named as an active player on the Minnesota Vikings active roster list for their 4 pm game versus the New England Patriots. As reported by Peter King of SI.com, "he suffered aOne is a stress fracture of his ankle, and the other "avulsion fracture'' of his calcaneus, or heel area, where a portion of the heel bone has chipped away." Speculation is that Tarvaris Jackson will most likely be needed to fill in for Favre at some point during the game.

The Patriots activated wide receiver Deion Branch, though he may not make much of an impact versus the Vikings. Branch is expected to be limited due to the same quadriceps injury that limited him in practice this week. With Branch playing it means that the first match up of the Patriots and the now departed Randy Moss will feature the wide receiver that was indirectly traded for him.

Steve Breaston will make his first appearance for the Arizona Cardinals after missing the last three weeks. Breaston has been recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery. In his only three games, all three were starts, of the season Breaston had 14 catches for 183 yards and 1 TD.

Vince Young is active and is expected to start for the Tennessee Titans over Kerry Collins. The Titans deactivated Justin Gage, who apparently has fallen down the depth charts. Fellow wide receiver Legedu Naanee is inactive for the San Diego Chargers because of continued problems with his hamstring. Kris Brown will once again be the Chargers kicker as he was declared as active; normal Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding is still out with a groin injury. LeGarrette Blount is active for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has been speculated to receive most of the carries for the Bucs.
