It’s Thursday, so it’s time for the Week 9 fantasy football player rankings. PlayThisGuy.com has given us their Top 10 players at QB, RB, WR, TE, K, and D/ST. They go around the Internet collecting data from fantasy football sites far and wide, and collate it into easily digestible consensus tables for your viewing pleasure.
Will you look at that? Topping the rankings at quarterback this week is Michael Vick. What a long, strange trip it’s been for the controversial signal-caller. Forced to leave Atlanta after the ugly mess of his dog-fighting days, and once thought to be just a backup for QB-of-the-future Kevin Kolb, Vick has re-emerged as a star on the NFL landscape. The Eagles take on the Redskins, who have defensive deficiencies in the passing game, so Vick’s dual-threat game (rushing, passing) could set him up for a big week. Following up Vick in the QB rankings are the Brothers Manning.
The Houston passing game hasn’t quite been what many thought it would be this season. Part of that is the emergence of Arian Foster, who ranks at the top of the running backs this week. But, if their passing game hasn’t been producing, why is Andre Johnson ranked as the top receiver, even if he’s been hobbled a bit by an ankle injury? Ah, they’re playing the Jaguars, who are very generous when it comes to giving up fantasy points to offensive players.
We’ve been talking about it here for weeks, hopefully you took advantage, it’s the Jon Kitna - Jason Witten connection. Witten has been having some of his best weeks working with Kitna. The experts like him again this week, ranking him as the top tight end.
