Fantasy Football News Roundup, Week 11: Hines Ward Okay To Play
Checking in on the fantasy news of the day for Week 11
--- Hines Ward was knocked out of the Patriots and Steelers game with a concussion. The good news is that he looks to be fine, in fact, he could have gone back in the game last week, but coach Mike Tomlin decided not to chance it. Ward has already passed early week tests for the concussion and should be fine to play on Sunday. So owners of Ward can rest easy.
--- Tyler Thigpen is likely the new guy in Miami. Both Chad's (Henne and Pennington) are likely out, so Thigpen will get the start. He might be a guy to watch on the waiver wire if you have some desperate weeks ahead at the quarterback position. The Phinsider talks about what Thigpen can do in Miami:
After opening the drive with an incomplete pass in Brandon Marshall's direction, Thigpen connected on his next four pass attempts - in impressive fashion, too. His 31 yard completion to Anthony Fasano, though, was a good look at all of the things Thigpen can bring to this offense - keeping the play alive with his mobility then flinging it down field.
Thigpen then showed zip and accuracy on third and goal, firing in a perfectly placed pass to Fasano in the endzone for what was essentially the game-sealing touchdown. It was the kind of pass that very good quarterbacks make; the kind that Henne sometimes tends to shy away from because of his fear of turnovers - specifically red zone turnovers.
--- Not that it's news, but Michael Vick is playing some outstanding football, I mean really outstanding.
--- The Colts could be getting back Austin Collie this week, but that's no sure thing. Collie was ruled out early last week, but so far no word from the Colts on his status except for being labeled questionable. If Peyton Manning can get one of his weapons back, that's good news for both Manning and Collie owners.
--- Beanie Wells might be returning to action, he's going to practice this week and if his knee holds up he might be abck in the Cardinals lineup.
--- Reggie Bush’s return is expected this week.
