There's one huge fantasy impact question still out there. Will Antonio Gates play or not? Owners who took a chance on the All-Pro tight end and kept him on their starting roster will find out soon if they made the right choice. Gates' status alone could make or break a matchup this week in fantasy. It's a game-time decision, but depending on whether you're holding Randy McMichael on your roster, your decision is made. Good luck, whichever side of that problem you're on!
Fantasy Football Monday Night Preview, Week 11: AFC West Clash Features Chargers And Broncos
The San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos battle on MNF. What’s the fantasy impact?
Of course, there is plenty of other fantasy talent in this game. Philip Rivers is a guy that's starting for one roster in your league. His numbers could also be affected by what happens with Gates. On the other side, Kyle Orton is starting in a lot of leagues.
QB Rank: Philip Rivers #1, Kyle Orton #8
Both Rivers and Orton are solid fantasy producers this year. Rivers has the edge in this game since the Chargers passing defense is statistically much better then Denver's. But both QBs are capable of putting up big numbers tonight.
RB Rank: Mike Tolbert #26, Knowshon Moreno #14
Mike Tolbert is a big back, and he’s been scavenging short-yardage TDs all season. With Ryan Matthews doubtful, Tolbert could have a big role. Tolbert will likely see a lot of carries. Moreno finally had a big game last week, but he didn’t get into the endzone. He’s a risky play given his production this season.
WR Rank: Malcolm Floyd #35, Brandon Lloyd #7
The Chargers welcome back the services of Malcolm Floyd, who they'll really need if Gates is out. Patrick Crayton has been handling the load at wide receiver, but Floyd will probably be the guy now. Brandon Lloyd has flourished in Denver this year with Kyle Orton, he'll be in everyone's lineup that owns him.
TE Rank: Antonio Gates #5, Dan Gronkowski #29
Gates? No Gates? That’s the only thing we need to know at tight end.
K Rank: Nate Kaeding #13, Matt Prater #16
Kaeding is probable coming off injury, if you kept him, you’re probably playing him. If you picked him up, you’re probably playing him.
D/ST Rank: San Diego #11, Denver #30
The Chargers have the superior defense, they don’t give up a lot of yards, but they do give up points. Denver’s defense has had a very rough go of it so far.
