With QB Matt Cassel out due to surgery, the Kansas City Chiefs offense isn’t getting very much accomplished. Backup Brodie Croyle has thrown for only 40 yards, giving up 23 yards worth of sacks in the process.
Minus Matt Cassel, Philip Rivers Dominating Chiefs-Chargers
Chargers QB Philip Rivers is having no such difficulties, passing for 178 yards and two touchdowns, both of them to WR Malcolm Floyd. This is Rivers’ ninth multiple-touchdown game of the season, and Floyd is up to six scores on the year.
Cassel underwent an appendectomy on Wednesday and had been questionable all week. Croyle is on his way to becoming a nice, round 0-10 as a starter. As usually RB Jamaal Charles is the bulk of Kansas City’s offense, but he’s provided only 49 yards so far.
