For many fantasy owners, Week 15 is over, and plenty of playoff games have been decided. But, for those fantasy games where owners still have players going tonight, and scores that are still competitive, the Minnesota Vikings matchup against the Chicago Bears is vitally important.
Fantasy Football Monday Night Preview, Week 15: Vikings And Bears To Play Outside In Expected Bad Weather
The Chicago Bears visit the Minnesota Vikings in a Monday night game that’s been moved outside, and is expected to have weather issues. Who will benefit?
The big issue now is the playing conditions. The games has been moved outdoors due to the roof collapse of the Metrodome, and cold weather and snow are expected tonight. Not just a little snow either, but a forecast calling for up to six inches. This could make the artificial playing surface very slippery, and the could limit visibility. The temperatures could plummet into the teens with a healthy wind-chill. Anybody looking for offensive explosions could be in trouble, but defenses may do well.
For the Vikings, Brett Favre has been upgraded to questionable, but it's still expected that Joe Webb, yes, Joe Webb, will be under center for Minnesota. This bodes well for the Bears defense. Adrian Peterson was injured in last week's game but is expected to play, and that's a good thing because the Vikings will likely rely on the ground game and Peterson on offense. The Vikings defense has been spotty, and Jay Cutler did damage against them in Week 10.
The Chicago offense has been up and down, especially Cutler who has been streaky. Last week, they were a dud against the Patriots defense, which was surprising. The Bears defense does very well in limiting touchdown passes, and they are stingy about giving up yards on the ground.
Given the weather conditions and the two defenses, it’s likely that the Bears will do most of the damage in this game, especially the Bears defense. Although Adrian Peterson is the wild-card and could make it his night on the ground.
