Fantasy Football News Roundup, Week 16: Aaron Rodgers Cleared To Play
Checking in on the fantasy news of the day for Week 16
--- The Green Bay Packers received good news when quarterback Aaron Rodgers was medically cleared to return to action following his concussion against the Lions a couple of weeks ago. The Packers lost that game and even though they played well the following week against the Patriots, they still came up short. If Aaron Rodgers was your fantasy quarterback, and if you're still alive this week, you may get a Christmas gift in the return of Rodgers.
--- The Colts didn't receive good news about oft-injured receiver Austin Collie. He suffered another concussion and owner Jim Irsay has tweeted that Collie is going on Injured Reserve. You'll need to look to other players for receiver help if you own Collie.
--- If you're still relying on Brett Favre at quarterback (and it's hard to imagine you are), the gray-bearded one is still in the mix to play this week against the Eagles, even after getting injured again in last week's game.
--- The Vikings haven't ruled out star running back Adrian Peterson for this weekend's game against Philly. Even though the Vikings don't have anything to play for, there's still a chance they don't shut down their star. Many fantasy owners have been relying on Peterson all year, it's a tough break he was inactive last week. Keep an eye out for his status later this week.
--- The Jaguars Mike Sims-Walker is battling an ankle injury from last week's game against the Colts. He's resting from practice this week and so far is listed as questionable. Sims-Walker produced big points last week and faces a poor Washington defense this week, if he can play he should be in line for fantasy points.
--- If things are so desperate on your roster that you're planning on playing a San Francisco quarterback, you'll have to wait to find out which one. Coach Mike Singletary won't tip his hand yet as to who will start, Alex Smith or Troy Smith.
--- If you own Terrell Owens, you probably already know the news that he's done for the year. But we thought we'd just pass it along in case you've been too busy Christmas shopping.
Happy Holidays and good luck in this final fantasy weekend (for most leagues)!
