Fantasy Football News Roundup, Week 17: David Garrard Out, Maurice Jones-Drew Likely Out
Checking in on the fantasy news of the day for Week 17
--- If you've been playing David Garrard as your quarterback, you'll have to look elsewhere this week. Garrard has been ruled out of the Jaguars critical game against the Texans, one that will help determine the Jags playoff hopes.
--- If that's not bad enough for Jacksonville, they will likely be without Maurice Jones-Drew, too. Jones-Drew missed last week's game and will likely need surgery on his knee when the season is over. Unfortunately for MJD owners, the season looks to be over starting now. It's not for sure yet, but all signs point that way.
--- The Jets have nothing to play for this weekend, and Mark Sanchez has a hurting shoulder. Coach Rex Ryan says he might play Sanchez some, but he probably won't go for long if at all. Look elsewhere.
--- The Vikings are a little worried about Adrian Peterson's injury, even though he was able to finish the game last week. AP should play, but coach Leslie Frazier says they will be monitoring him closely for any problems. Keep an eye out for his status as the week progresses.
--- The Chargers could welcome back receiver Malcolm Floyd this weekend, he's recovering from hamstring issues. It's not for sure yet, keep checking his status as the week progresses.
--- Some more iffy players:
- Knowshon Moreno is questionable with a rib injury that kept him out of last week's game.
- Andre Johnson's status for the Texans is unsure because of continued ankle problems.
- Ahmad Bradshaw missed practice with an ankle injury on Wednesday. He has a favorable matchup this week, but could be slowed or not play at all.
