The Dallas Cowboys got word on Felix Jones' high ankle sprain and it sounds like he could miss anywhere from two weeks to a month with the injury. Jones left the Cowboys loss to the Patriots in the second quarter and now finds himself in a protective boot while recovering from the injury.
Felix Jones Injury Update: Cowboys RB Likely Sideline Two To Four Weeks
The sprain will sideline Felix Jones through this weekend's juicy matchup against the St. Louis Rams, the following week's contest at the Philadelphia Eagles and possible home games against the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills. That is a mix of good and bad while he gets right.
In his place, the Cowboys will likely stick with DeMarco Murray as the lead back, with Tashard Choice working as a change of pace back. Choice has yet to stake a claim to more playing time and the rookie Murray has moved ahead of him on the depth chart. Murray has 24 carries on the year for 71 yards. Choice has 67 yards on 26 carries. While Murray is a guy you likely should try and grab on the waiver wire, expectations should be tempered for him moving forward. He is worth grabbing with solid waiver positioning, but it remains to be seen how effective he will be.
