Antonio Gates Status Update: Chargers TE Is Active Vs. Jets

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates was a full participant in Friday's practice and was officially listed as "questionable" for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Gates is active for game day and is expected to play and be involved in the passing offense. Gates has been dealing with a foot injury for much of the season and willingly sat out Week 5 to rest his foot. Sitting out the two weeks, including the bye week, made Gates comfortable enough to play this week.

Gates caught eight passes for 74 yards in the season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings, but he was a non-factor in a Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots and has missed the last three games due to pain associated with the scar tissue in his right foot tearing during his comeback from plantar fasciitis.
