Tarvaris Jackson will miss the Seattle Seahawks' Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns with a pectoral injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, meaning backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst will get the start.
Tarvaris Jackson Status Update: Charlie Whitehurst To Start With Jackson Out
This likely means all of Seattle's skill position players — notably receivers Sidney Rice and Doug Baldwin — should get a substantial downgrade. Whitehurst has been a backup in the league for a long time now, and he's never been effective, with a career 3-3 TD-to-interception ratio. However, it's not like T-Jax has set the world completely on fire, so how much worse the 'Hawks offense will be remains to be seen.
One player who will likely benefit from this move is Marshawn Lynch, who will play despite being limited with an ankle injury. They should feed the bruiser more than ever, which means even with a low yards-per-carry, he should still have a solid outing.
