Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson put together another dominant performance Sunday in the Vikings loss to Green Bay, but it came at what is likely only a modest price. Peterson rushed 24 times for 175 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with an apparent ankle injury.
Adrian Peterson Injury Update: Ankle Injury Slows Vikings Running Back Late
The upside is that Peterson did in fact return to the game later in the fourth quarter, but was a bit gimpy in his movements. More than likely he will be fairly limited in practice this week as the Vikings prepare for next Sunday's contest at the Carolina Panthers. It is a fairly enticing matchup for Peterson, although that can be said for most weekly opponents. In spite of playing for a fairly brutal Vikings squad, AP continues to put up solid to excellent numbers. His worst performance to date was an 80-yard rushing day at the Kansas City Chiefs in which he had zero touchdowns.
At worst, the Vikings might be inclined to give Toby Gerhart or Lorenzo Booker a few more carries. In reality though, it will not impact Peterson. Expect him back in the lineup this Sunday as usual.
