Fantasy Football Week 8 Quarterback Projections: Vick, Romo Game Looks Promising
Still dealing with bye weeks and injuries, fantasy owners are scrambling to fill the gaps. We look at Week 8 player projections to help with the decisions.
It's hard to remember a season in which there's been so much change at the quarterback position. Rookies like Cam Newton and Andy Dalton started the season for their teams, Blaine Gabbert soon followed, and Kerry Collins/Curtis Painter have had to replace Peyton Manning. But in the recent weeks we've seen a slew of new turnover at quarterback. Whether due to injury, or just poor play, we have plenty of fresh quarterbacks running offenses. Matt Moore, Carson Palmer, Christian Ponder, Tim Tebow, and John Beck have jumped into starting roles. So how do the Week 8 projections for quarterbacks shake out?
Our partner, numberfire.com, has provided us with projections for 15 top-rated quarterbacks in Week 8. They determine their projections by feeding the stats and matchups into the computer, and the computer responds with its best estimate.
These projections are live and may change before Sunday’s action. Come back over the next few days until game time to see where your players stand.
The game between the Cowboys and the Eagles has two quarterbacks with top five projections right now. Michael Vick is second on the list currently, the Eagles will need the passing game as the Cowboys lead the league in rush defense. The Cowboys will attack an Eagles defense that has given up points in bunches this year.
Matthew Stafford is back at practice this Wednesday, and he projects out well this week. If his ankle remains good to go, he's a start in fantasy. It looks like the computer is giving Joe Flacco a pass on last week's debacle and projects him as mid-tier. And Tim Tebow slips into the rankings again this week.
* Fantasy Points Projections are based on the Yahoo! and ESPN default scoring settings. Quarterbacks are scored with 1 point for every 25 passing yards, and 4 points for every touchdown. For running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, they are scored with 1 point for every 10 total yards, and 6 points for every touchdown. This is a non-PPR projection.
Injured players appear on the list, this is their projection IF they play.
