Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones left Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints after once again straining his balky hamstring. Jones had two receptions for nine yards in the first half before having the injury flair up. Jones had missed several games with the injury before returning last week against the Indianapolis Colts with a monster performance. Jones tried to get back in the second half, but the team sat him down the rest of the game.
Julio Jones Injury Update: Falcons Receiver Strains Hamstring
Head coach Mike Smith will chat with the media on Monday and I would imagine he’ll get some questions about Jones’ injury. The Falcons return to practice on Wednesday, so we may not get any sort of update on Jones’ status until that first practice participation report. Hopefully though, we’ll get some more information on Monday.
Once again, Harry Douglas emerged in the absence of Julio Jones. Douglas finished the game as the Falcons leader with eight receptions and 133 yards. Roddy White is the big threat on the Falcons, but when Jones is down, defenders lock in on him a bit more, to the benefit of receivers like Harry Douglas.
