Michael Turner, Julio Jones Injury Update: Falcons Playmakers Return To Practice Friday

The Atlanta Falcons welcomed back two of their biggest playmakers on Friday as running back Michael Turner and wide receiver Julio Jones both returned to practice. Both players sat out Wednesday and Thursday practices after playing in week twelve against the Minnesota Vikings.

Michael Turner has been dealing with a nagging groin injury following offseason surgery. Although Turner has been dealing with the injury, he has put together a very solid 2011 campaign for the Falcons. He's had one bad game, one subpar game and the other nine games have been anywhere from strong to mind-blowing. He will face a Houston Texans defense that is solid against the run, although not as good as they are against the pass. Given the Texans injury issues, if the Falcons can grab an early lead, Turner could be in line for a big game running out the clock.

Julio Jones has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury that has cost him two games and part of a third. When healthy he has put up some monster numbers. He is coming off back-to-back poor outings with two catches for nine yards over the last two games combined. It remains to be seen if that is due to his hamstring or Matt Ryan simply looking elsewhere. His upside is huge, but unless you have no other options, start him with caution on Sunday.
