Julio Jones missed Week 6 with a hamstring injury and his status for Week 7 is yet to be determined.
Michael Turner, Julio Jones Injury Update: Falcons Playmakers Return To Practice Friday
Julio Jones has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury that has cost him two games and part of a third. When healthy he has put up some monster numbers. He is coming off back-to-back poor outings with two catches for nine yards over the last two games combined. It remains to be seen if that is due to his hamstring or Matt Ryan simply looking elsewhere. His upside is huge, but unless you have no other options, start him with caution on Sunday.

Head coach Mike Smith will chat with the media on Monday and I would imagine he’ll get some questions about Jones’ injury. The Falcons return to practice on Wednesday, so we may not get any sort of update on Jones’ status until that first practice participation report. Hopefully though, we’ll get some more information on Monday.

The Falcons face the Lions this Sunday and then have a bye week. While Jones will likely be a last minute decision, the odds are high that he does not play this weekend. The addition of a bye week on the other end of this makes the decision a little easier, even though the Falcons have a huge game this weekend. A re-aggravation of the injury could result in multiple more weeks off for Jones.

For fantasy purposes, Harry Douglas could prove to be a decent pass catching option in bye weeks. The Falcons have a bye in week eight so he would be a very limited option. For now you will simply have to sit on Julio Jones for another couple weeks. Given the upcoming week eight bye, he should be good to go by the time week nine rolls around.

The Atlanta Falcons’ official Twitter account reports that Jones is questionable to return, which is unfortunate news for the rookie during the fourth quarter of what should have been one of his best games of the year against the Packers’ spotty defensive secondary.
