Steven Jackson Fantasy Recap: Late Touchdown Saves Quiet Day

The past three weeks had been cause for concern, though. After amassing 417 yards during weeks 8-10, Jackson’s production has slipped considerably. In weeks 11-13 he had rushed for just 127 yards, less than he had in any one of those previous three weeks.

Compounding those recent struggles has been an inability to find the end zone. Jackson has not scored since scoring twice in Week 8.

Marshawn Lynch Fantasy Stats: Taste The Fantasy Points!

It wasn’t so long ago that Lynch had become a fantasy afterthought. The one-time fantasy stud had failed to rush for as much as 75 yards in any of his first four games and did not rush for 100 yards in any game until breaking out for 135 in Week 9.

Since then, however, he has been an absolute beast. Heading into Week 14, Lynch had eclipsed the 100-yard barrier in four of five games, rushing for 591 yards and scoring six touchdowns during that stretch. Going back and little farther, he had scored a touchdown in eight straight games, after failing to score in any of his first four.

Toby Gerhart Fantasy Update: Vikings RB Solid As Adrian Peterson Nears Returns

Where this gets sticky for Adrian Peterson owners is the fact that we might see a bit of a rotation depending on how Peterson feels for the game. That is as frustrating as anything given that we could see one good to great running back situation turned into a pair of average or worse situations for this week. We will have to see how the Vikings play this over the coming week.

Felix Jones Fantasy Update: Cowboys RB Back In The Saddle

Jones will fill the starting running back role moving forward as the Cowboys are running out of backs. They will likely sign one or two free agent running backs, but Jones is the guy heading into the final stretch run. This is a potential high impact lineup change with fantasy football playoffs in full swing. The Cowboys travel to Tampa Bay next week to face an inconsistent Bucs defense.

Greg Jennings Fantasy Stats: Injury Halts Packers WR’s Day

Greg Jennings didn’t have his best day in the Green Bay Packers’ win over the Oakland Raiders, partially due to an injury that he picked up in the third quarter. When he exited the game with what is being called a sprained knee, Jennings had just two catches for 20 yards and no touchdowns. Keep track of Jennings’ injury status right here, in our Greg Jennings injury StoryStream.

Jennings has been a consistent source of fantasy points all season for owners. He had nine touchdowns prior to Week 14’s game against the Oakland Raiders, finding the end zone in all but three games he participated in. Though quarterback Aaron Rodgers does like to spread the ball around, Jennings is more often than not the most targeted player on the team. Rodgers threw to him 14 times last week against the New York Giants. Jennings finished that game with seven receptions for 94 yards and another score. He came at No. 8 in this week’s fantasy rankings over at the SB Nation blog Fake Teams.

Jordy Nelson Fantasy Stats: Packers’ Receiver Produces With A Score

Those who have Jordy Nelson on their fantasy team probably got fantastic value, thanks to the presence of Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley on his team. He’s slowly emerged as the No. 1 option for Rodgers and he’s put together another nice fantasy performance. Those in PPR leagues won’t be too happy, as he caught just three balls, but he made them count by picking up 81 yards and a touchdown.

Nelson has been a touchdown machine for the Green Bay Packers, with nine scores prior to Week 14’s game against the Raiders. He has been a pleasant surprise all season to fantasy owners who foresaw his budding relationship with this season’s uber-quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He climbed all the way up to No. 10 coming in this week’s wide receiver rankings over at the SB Nation fantasy sports blog Fake Teams as a result of his hard work. The Packers are approaching shut-down time for the starters, not to mention bad weather at Lambeau, but until he gives you a reason not to it should be safe to keep Nelson in your starting lineup going forward.

Aaron Rodgers Fantasy Stats: Not His Best Day, But Still Solid For Fantasy Owners

You know you’re good when a 96.7 quarterback rating is by far your worst of the season. That’s the rating Aaron Rodgers put up in the Green Bay Packers’ win over the Oakland Raiders. If Rodgers is on your fantasy team, he probably didn’t give you the points you’re used to, but his production was still solid. Rodgers completed 17-30 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns, along with one interception. Due to the Packers’ massive lead, Rodgers was pulled in the third quarter.

The only hindrance to Rodgers’ in fantasy games will be factors outside of his control. At 13-0, the Packers could have homefield advantage locked up through the playoffs soon, possibly relegating Rodgers to short shifts in the coming weeks. Bad weather is on its way to Green Bay as well. Still, it’d be crazy not to ride Rodgers as your fantasy starter for as long as possible. He was the No. 1 quarterback in this week’s fantasy rankings over at the SB Nation blog Fake Teams, and with good reason. Rodgers had 3,844 yards passing on the season going into Week 14, as well as 37 touchdown passes to just five interceptions.

Josh Freeman Fantasy Stats: Two Picks, One TD For Bucs QB

Josh Freeman, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-year quarterback, had a rough day today in a loss to the Jaguars. He threw for just 181 yards and two picks. He did manage to score a rushing touchdown early in the game.

An incident at the gun range left Josh Freeman unable to play last week. He was practicing for the Buccaneers Week 14 game, but a Friday setback made him a game time decision. Chalk it up as just another disappointment in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2011 season.

Matt Ryan Fantasy Stats: Four Touchdowns For Matty Ice

Matt Ryan finally looked like the quarterback fans have been looking for all season. Matty Ice completed 22 of 38 passes for 320 yards and four touchdowns. The last time Ryan threw four touchdowns in a game was in a Week 2 win against the Eagles.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan struggled last week against the Houston Texans. Like his team, Ryan has disappointed this season, in the sense that he hasn’t met the lofty expectations people had for him in his fourth season. Then there was that draft day trade for wide receiver Julio Jones.

Cedric Benson Fantasy Stats: 91 Yards For Bengals RB

Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson had a productive day against a tough defense. Benson carried the ball 21 times for 91 yards. He did not find the end zone in the Bengals’ last minute loss to the Texans. Benson still produced more fantasy points than many predicted this week.

Through Weeek 13, Benson has put together a solid season from the Cincinnati backfield. He had racked up a total of 792 rushing yards on 201 carries with five rushing touchdowns, averaging 3.9 yards per touch. He had an additional 53 receiving yards on 10 catches.

Chris Johnson Fantasy: Back To Earth For CJ2K

Chris Johnson was back to the forgettable version of himself today. The Saints defense did a good job limiting the damage from the Titans’ running back. Johnson ran the ball 11 times for just 23 yards. He also caught five passes for 43 yards.

Johnson is nearing the 1,000 rushing yards mark for the 2011 season. Through Week 13, he has picked up 852 yards on the ground on 206 carries and has added an additional 272 yards in the air on 40 receptions.

Darren Sproles Fantasy: Sproles Tops 90 Yards

Darren Sproles turned into one of the best free agent additions of the offseason. His speed is paying big dividends in the Saints’ high flying offense. He ran the ball five times for 33 yards. He also caught seven passes for another 58 yards. Sproles shared carries with Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory.

Through Week 13, Sproles has 430 rushing yards on 63 carries and 522 receiving yards on 67 catches.

Wes Welker Fantasy Stats: Effective Outing For Welker

New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker was no Gronkowski, but he had a solid day of fantasy production despite that. Welker caught seven passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. He also let a touchdown pass slip through his hands.

With New England’s number two-ranked passing attack set to take on the number nine-ranked Washington pass defense on Sunday, SB Nation’s fantasy sports site, Fake Teams, ranked Welker the No. 4 overall wide receiver for week 14.

The Ravens have been using a balanced attack this season to rank sixth in the league in points per game (24.7), but went run-heavy at Cleveland last weekend. Rice (926 rushing yards, 56 receptions, 11 total TD), who also leads the team in catches, rushed the ball 29 times and ripped off a 67-yard run while averaging seven yards a carry.

Drew Brees Fantasy: Saints QB Tops 300 Yards Again

Another week, another win and another big game for Drew Brees. The New Orleans Saints quarterback threw for 337 passing yards on his way to breaking Dan Marino’s single-season record for passing yards. Brees also chucked two touchdown passes to round out his day.

Drew Brees is one of three NFL quarterbacks on pace to break Dan Marino’s record for passing yards in one season, along with Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Records or not, Brees has likely carries your fantasy team this season. And what have you done for him?

Mark Sanchez Fantasy: Jets QB Accounts For 4 TDs

It has been that kind of season for the 25-year-old. He had headed into Week 14 with just 2,678 yards and a rating of just 81.1. But his 22 combined rushing and passing touchdowns have made his passing numbers less of a concern. This was the fifth time this season that Sanchez had accounted for at least two touchdowns, while failing to throw for as many as 200 yards. In fact, just twice this season has Sanchez thrown at least two touchdowns and thrown for more than 200 yards.
