Running backs are the engine of your fantasy roster. You count on them each week to get the solid base of points, and hope some of your other guys hit it big. It's tough to win consistently in fantasy unless you have a pretty good stable of running backs. The running back position is also very susceptible to injury, so you need more than one. The fortunate part is every year you have guys that pop up out of nowhere and can really save your season. BenJarvus Green-Ellis comes to mind from last year. So who is a good bet to score points this week?
Fantasy Football Week 2 Running Back Projections: Arian Foster’s Status Unclear
Week 2 of fantasy football is drawing near, it’s time to project the Top 25 fantasy running backs.
SB Nation’s partner, numberFire.com, asked their giant computer-brain to crunch the numbers and to spit out some player projections for the upcoming week. They have the massive database of numbers, and the algorithms to break it all down, providing you with a statistical projection for Week 2.
Darren McFadden's long journey from college stud, to oft-injured NFL disappointment, has come full-circle to NFL stud. McFadden ranks first this week after a good week one showing building on a good last season. McFadden looks formidable.
The big news is the injuries to both Arian Foster and Steven Jackson. You can keep up with those injuries and others at our injury update stream. Foster looks like he could play, he participated in practice. Jackson is another story and the prospects are dimmer for him. Knowshon Moreno is another guy with injury, his status is unclear.
In the Ryan Grant/James Starks battle in Green Bay, it looks like the computer is picking Starks this week. Weekly stud Chris Johnson is all the way down to 16th; he's going up against a brutal Baltimore defense. His counter-part in the game, Ray Rice, is designated as "hot" based on last week and comes in at fourth in the rankings.
