Fantasy Football Week 2 Defense Projections: Steelers Still On Top, But What About The Ravens?
Week 2 of fantasy football is drawing near, it’s time to project the Top 25 fantasy defenses.
SB Nation’s partner, numberFire.com, asked their giant computer-brain to crunch the numbers and to spit out some player projections for the upcoming week. They have the massive database of numbers, and the algorithms to break it all down, providing you with a statistical projection for Week 2.
The computer still likes the Steelers as the top pick, partially because they’re facing a Seattle offense that looked anemic in Week 1. Expect the Steelers to try and rebound from last week, and get after QB Tarvaris Jackson. Another top defense that gave up a lot of point last week was Green Bay, but they still come in second for the projections. They get a Carolina offense that was suspect going into the season, but performed pretty well under rookie Cam Newton.
Baltimore is designated as "hot" this week, and they should be after last week's performance. They get the Titans, who didn't show much outside of Kenny Britt in Week 1. Can Chris Johnson make some yards against the Ravens?
Chicago's defense dismantled the Falcons offense last week, and the Falcons were supposed to be potent. Chicago gets another stern test this week when they take on the Saints. Good news for the Bears defense is the injuries at receiver for New Orleans, the sad news for them is the death of Brian Urlacher's mother. Our condolences to him.
* Fantasy Points Projections are based on the Yahoo! and ESPN default scoring settings. Quarterbacks are scored with 1 point for every 25 passing yards, and 4 points for every touchdown. For running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, they are scored with 1 point for every 10 total yards, and 6 points for every touchdown. This is a non-PPR projection.
