That sound you’re likely hearing from fantasy quarterbacks is cha-ching. The 2011 NFL season is off to a fast start where points are concerned, and a lot of that is coming from quarterbacks firing touchdown passes. The NFL has become a pass-happy league, and the trend keeps growing. Once running backs were considered the keys to fantasy football, but in the new landscape, quarterbacks are putting up record numbers.
Fantasy Football Week 3 Quarterback Projections: Vick, Romo Injury Status Clouds Picture
A few weeks into the fantasy football season, and we’re starting to get real numbers to use for projections. See who should perform in Week 3.

With that in mind, our partner, numberFire.com, fired up their super computer and used mathematical wizardry to create fantasy projections for Week 3. Some players listed are under injury watch, you can keep up with the status of injuries and general fantasy news here and here.
The two biggest question marks at quarterback were Michael Vick and Tony Romo. Both are coming off injuries, but both look likely to play. Vick, barring any unforeseen setback, will go. Romo's status is a little less certain. His punctured lung has healed according to CT scans, so if he can manage the pain of a cracked rib, he should play. Vick is ranked highly this week, but Romo's injury, and injuries across his offense, keep him out of the top projections.
The underdog trio of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Cam Newton and Matt Stafford are still hot, and come in as the 9th, 10th and 12th quarterbacks, respectively.
* Fantasy Points Projections are based on the Yahoo! and ESPN default scoring settings. Quarterbacks are scored with 1 point for every 25 passing yards, and 4 points for every touchdown. For running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, they are scored with 1 point for every 10 total yards, and 6 points for every touchdown. This is a non-PPR projection.
