SB Nation has partnered with numberFire.com this year to bring you a new set of fantasy football player projections. You can almost taste it, real NFL football. Along with that comes fantasy, and teams in fantasy are often built around the quarterback. So who will be the top fantasy football performers for week one?
Philip Rivers gets the nod for the top spot based on his previous year’s performances and his upcoming game against the Vikings defense. Minnesota’s secondary has been an issue, and Rivers will look to exploit it. Hot on his heels is dual-threat Michael Vick, a quarterback who could set a fantasy points record on any given weekend.
Jason Campbell of the Oakland Raiders makes a surprise visit to the top five, as his prospects are brightened by a perceived lack of defense from Denver. Tony Romo’s return from injury isn’t getting much respect from the computer, his away game against a tough Jets secondary is bringing down his week one projections.
Young guns Colt McCoy and Andy Dalton are the only two quarterbacks projected to only hit single digits in the Top 25.
