We're back for Week 6 of the 2012 NFL season. The Steelers and Titans got things started on Thursday, with a sizable upset by Tennessee. Ben Roethlisberger put together another big passing day, finishing with 363 yards. He only had one touchdown for the second straight week, but the big yards help. Matt Hasselbeck, likely not starting for most people, had a solid enough day with 290 yards passing, a touchdown and an interception

Now we're back for Sunday's slate of Week 6 action. This marks the third week of byes with the Bears, Saints, Panthers and Jaguars all on the sidelines. Make sure to have replacements for Drew Brees, Jay Cutler and Cam Newton.
We have been providing you with rankings all week long, but as Sunday dawns, it would be helpful to have some projections as well. Our Week 6 quarterback rankings are based on our pool of knowledge and often a bit of gut instinct. To improve your chances this year, we are going to provide Sunday projections courtesy of the folks at numberFire. NumberFire uses a series of mathematical models, to break down the action and figure out who exactly is performing well. They use the power of predictive and regressive modeling to more accurately project future performance.
Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers remain at the top of both numberFire and SB Nation Fantasy. Where both projections will be interesting to follow is with QB Robert Griffin III. The Redskins QB suffered a head injury last week but appears set to play this week. He faces a Vikings defense that has proven solid and should present a stiff challenge. Here are the top ten QB projections from numberFire, based on standard scoring systems:
1. Matt Ryan - 20.72
2. Tom Brady - 18.55
3. Peyton Manning - 18.41
4. Aaron Rodgers - 17.72
5. Robert Griffin III - 17.47
6. Alex Smith - 17.45
7. Joe Flacco - 16.98
8. Kevin Kolb - 16.17
9. Matthew Stafford - 16.05
10. Matt Schaub - 15.95
NumberFire claims a higher predictive rate than the major companies (ESPN, CBS, Yahoo!). However, as with anything in fantasy football, we at SB Nation Fantasy view numberFire as one more weapon in your arsenal to claim victory. The numbers can help over the long term, but there are enough variables week-to-week that multiple sources can provide great value.
