Week 7 will separate the men from the boys in fantasy football leagues. With six teams - Atlanta, Miami, Denver, San Diego, Philadelphia and Kansas City - on their bye weeks, it will be obvious which fantasy owners have planned ahead and have adequate depth on their bench.

The seventh week of the season will create a thin group of running backs. Lesean McCoy, Jamaal Charles, Ryan Mathews, Willis McGahee, Reggie Bush and Michael Turner will all leave owners with a lineup vacancy.

Fear not, if you’re a fantasy owner that has been ravaged by the Week 7 byes. Just take a look at some of the best waiver wire options for this week.

Best short-term options

1. Felix Jones, Dallas Cowboys - As DeMarco Murray exited Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, a familiar headache for fantasy owners reared its ugly head. His name is Felix Jones, and he has been breaking fantasy owners' hearts for years. However, Murray may miss the team's Week 7 game, and the Cowboys are playing against the lowly Panthers. If bye weeks have you in a bind, put your money on Felix Jones.

2. Vick Ballard, Indianapolis Colts - With Donald Brown out for a few weeks, Vick Ballard has assumed the main role in the Colts' backfield. While his first performance against the Jets was underwhelming, Ballard will take on the generous Browns defense in Week 7. He's worth a flier for desperate owners.

Long-Term Options

1. Daryl Richardson, St. Louis Rams - Daryl Richardson is earning himself more and more carries in St. Louis' offense. Steven Jackson is still running well, but Richardson will continue to be a part of this offense and is worth adding in 12-team leagues.

2. William Powell, Arizona Cardinals - William Powell was a hot waiver wire add last week, but if he's still out there in your league, it's safe to add him. He ran well against the Buffalo Bills and will be the Cardinals' main running back going forward.

Who to drop?

Peyton Hillis, Bilal Powell, Jahvid Best, James Starks
