Rashard Mendenhall said Monday that his injured left Achilles' tendon "was just irritated" and not torn or sprained. The running back believes he has a chance to play Week 7 when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Cincinnati Bengals, according to the Beaver County Times.
Rashard Mendenhall expects to play Week 7, improving fantasy outlook
Rashard Mendenhall said his injured left Achilles’ tendon was “just irritated” and that he has a chance to play Week 7 for the Steelers. We break down the fantasy implications.

Mendenhall was held out of Monday’s light practice, but remains optimistic.
“It’s a little tight,” Mendenhall said. “I’ll just continue to work on it and get treatment. Hopefully, it will get better. But I’m planning on being able to play (against the Bengals).”
Fantasy Impact: If Mendenhall can't play, the Steelers may be down to just Jonathan Dwyer at running back. Isaac Redman suffered an ankle injury against the Tennessee Titans, though he is also hopeful that he can play. Regardless, Mendenhall is the only one among the trio to shown any kind of life this season. He had 101 yards of total offense and a touchdown in his season debut off a torn ACL in Week 5.
