Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed said in a radio interview that he has a "labrum tear" and that it is "maybe" affecting his play this season. Reed hasn't shown up on injury reports lately, nor has he missed a game, so it appears that the injury isn't holding him out but it might be holding him back. Any further bad news to the Ravens defense would be a crushing blow to a unit that has already lost Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb and has been without Terrell Suggs. The 5-1 Ravens rank 26th in total defense and 23rd in net yards allowed per pass attempt.

Fantasy Take: It’s been a rough season for the Ravens defense and they’re falling off as a fantasy team defense with only ten sacks and seven interceptions in six games. Losing Reed or not having him at full strength, would further weaken the unit.
As an individual defensive player in fantasy, he’s not what he once was. Reed has five interceptions in his last 22 games, compared to eight interceptions in only ten games of the 2010 season.
