Trent Richardson will wear a flak jacket this weekend to protect his ribs from further cartilage damage when the Cleveland Browns play the Indianapolis Colts. He was forced to leave last week's game against the Cincinnati Bengals after taking a blow to his side.
Trent Richardson will wear flak jacket to protect ribs: Fantasy implications
Trent Richardson will wear a flak jacket to protect his ribs after damaging the cartilage during the Browns’ win over the Bengals last week. We break down the fantasy implications.

When head coach Pat Shurmur told Richardson that the jacket was bullet proof, Shurmur said Richardson responded by saying “he already was.“
Fantasy Impact: Shurmur also said that while he prefers that Richardson is the main guy out of the backfield, he still trusts the backups. Read into that how you will. Richardson was able to practice Wednesday, so he should play against the Colts. Montario Hardesty may still see a role after rushing for 56 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries last week, however.
Even in the unlikely event of a pure timeshare, both running backs could be productive against a Colts defense giving up 5.0 yards per carry this season. Consider Richardson a safe RB2/Flex play this week, and toss some deep-league sleeper value Hardesty’s way.
