Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams had two carries for four yards against the Dallas Cowboys but coach Ron Rivera suggested after the game that that wasn't by design. Rivera said (via The Charlotte Observer) that Williams and Jonathan Stewart "trade off based on personnel."

Stewart finished the game with 35 yards on 10 carries, while Mike Tolbert scored on a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Williams signed a five-year, $43-million contract extension in 2011.
Fantasy Impact: Williams and Stewart are one of the great fantasy mysteries of this season. Both were recently rewarded with large contract extensions and neither player has had much of a chance to carry the football this season. These contracts, the lack of production from the players and a 1-5 start to the season could have been big factors into why the Panthers on Monday fired general manager Marty Hurney.
Stewart should have more of a fantasy impact than Williams going forward but neither player is a great start for fantasy owners, especially in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears.
