Detroit Lions wide receiver Mike Thomas practiced on Thursday with his new team for the first time. Thomas was acquired this week in a trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Detroit was looking for help at wide receiver after losing Nate Burleson with a season-ending leg injury.
Mike Thomas has first practice with Lions: Fantasy implications
Detroit Lions wide receiver Mike Thomas practiced with his new team on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Thomas had 13 catches for 80 yards with the Jaguars but became expendable with the emergence of Cecil Shorts III, the presence of rookie Justin Blackmon and the return of Laurent Robinson from injury. The Lions face the Jaguars on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact: Thomas will not likely have much of an impact right away but it does give the Lions one more option at wide receiver. Fantasy owners will want to focus more on Titus Young and Ryan Broyles, who will likely be the No. 3 option for Detroit at receiver.
Thomas may not get on the field much in Week 9 but is a name to keep in mind if the Lions think he makes a better slot receiver than Broyles. Fantasy owners should wait and see how this develops before considering a claim.
