There was hope and speculation that Darren Sproles would only miss one game after hand surgery, but that's not going to happen. The Saints versatile back has been ruled out for Week 10 and will not suit up against the Falcons.
Darren Sproles injury update: Fantasy value nil with out status
Sproles will not be returning early from injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Sproles has caught 39 passes for 323 yards and rushed for 117 in seven games.
Fantasy Take: Pierre Thomas is somewhat valuable and is averaging 4.7 yards per carry, but Sproles is the only player in the backfield that could do exactly what the Saints need a back to do. Travaris Cadet is similar in size but just doesn't have nearly the same skills as Sproles.
You'll likely see Thomas, Mark Ingram, and Chris Ivory split carries, making their own fantasy values pretty low. Thomas is the one to own if you're in a bind with Sproles out.
