Update: McGahee was designated for return when he was placed on injured reserve, and could rejoin the Broncos in time for the AFC Championship Game if the team advances that far into the playoffs. Regardless, his season is over for the vast majority of fantasy owners.
Willis McGahee injury: Broncos RB placed on IR, ending fantasy season
Willis McGahee will miss the rest of the 2012 season after being placed on injured reserve by the Broncos with a torn MCL. We break down the fantasy implications.

Willis McGahee will miss the remainder of the 2012 season after being place on injured reserve by the Denver Broncos, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports. McGahee suffered a torn MCL and compression fracture in his right knee during last weekend's win over the San Diego Chargers.
McGahee left the game in the second quarter, and did not return after rushing seven time for 55 yards and catching one pass for 18 yards. Lance Ball and rookie Ronnie Hillman are expected to handle rushing duties going forward.
Fantasy Impact: The loss of McGahee is a massive blow to fantasy owners gearing up for their playoff runs. The veteran running back has been a solid RB2 in standard leagues this season, racking up 731 yards rushing on 167 carries with four touchdowns. He pitched in 221 yards off 26 receptions, as well.
Hillman had 12 carries for 43 yards, and two receptions for 16 yards on Sunday, and appears to be worth owning over Ball, who had just six carries for 35 yards and three receptions for 21 yards. Expect the timeshare to continue, however, making whoever becomes the nominal starter a Flex option at best.
