Fred Jackson has been placed on injured reserve by the Buffalo Bills due to a grade 2 MCL sprain, according to WGR 550 Sports Radio. Jackson had already been ruled out for the season by Bills head coach Chan Gailey after the running back was forced to leave Sunday's loss to the St. Louis Rams.

Fred Jackson has been placed on injured reserve by the Buffalo Bills, officially ending his season due to an MCL sprain. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jackson finishes the 2012 season with 115 carries for 437 yards and three touchdowns, and 34 receptions for 217 yards and one touchdown playing in a timeshare with C.J. Spiller. With Jackson out, Spiller is expected to handle most of the rushing workload for the Bills.
Fantasy Impact: Jackson averaged a career-worst 3.8 yards per carry on the season, much to the chagrin of Spiller owners. Spiller is averaging 6.6 yards per carry and, with Jackson out, won't have a cap on his number of touches. He should be considered a must-start fantasy option going forward. He has a decent matchup this week against a Seattle Seahawks defense giving up 4.4 yards per carry (although just 105.4 yards per game) on the ground.
