Steelers vs. Ravens: Fantasy football projections featuring Mike Wallace, Joe Flacco and Ray Rice

We break down the pertinent fantasy projections for the Week 13 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens.

Larry French

The Pittsburgh Steelers will face the Baltimore Ravens for the second time in three weeks on Sunday. Last time these two teams faced off, we didn’t see much scoring, or offense, or fantasy points. With the fantasy playoffs right around the corner, you need to play the matchups carefully here. To help you prepare your fantasy football lineup for Week 13, we’ve got game-by-game player projections courtesy of numberFire.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger’s absence has taken a toll on the entire receiving corps. Byron Leftwich suffered injuries as well after taking over for Big Ben, leaving Charlie Batch with the misfortune of leading the turnover fest last week. Antonio Brown is back at least. However, if Roethlisberger can’t go, Brown and Mike Wallace will be risky plays. Wallace caught just one pass in Week 12.

Rashard Mendenahll has been demoted to third-string. The entire backfield managed to fumble last week, so Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman will all be in the mix with Mendenhall on Sunday. It’s tough to choose any starter among this group.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens finished with just 200 total yards against the Steelers in Week 11. They’ll have home-field advantage this time, but Pittsburgh still brings a stout defense to the table. Joe Flacco plays much better at home, boosting Torrey Smith’s value. Smith has scored in four of five home games in 2012. Ray Rice couldn’t find much room to run two weeks ago. He’s still going to find value one way or another, though. Dennis Pitta is certainly one tight end to avoid. He caught just one pass against the Steelers in his first matchup this year.
