On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers faced off against their division rival, the St. Louis Rams. With usual No. 2 running back Kendall Hunter (Achilles) out for the season, the Niners have had some changeover in the backfield.
LaMichael James a healthy scratch, has no fantasy value as a rookie
San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James was a healthy scratch on Sunday. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

Regardless of Hunter's absence, rookie RB LaMichael James was a healthy scratch on Sunday. Instead, Brandon Jacobs received the second-most carries for Niners running backs.
Fantasy Analysis: 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick more than doubled Jacobs' carries. Even though San Francisco is one of the most efficient running teams, their tailbacks don't carry much fantasy value outside Frank Gore.
It would be wise to avoid James and Jacobs for the remainder of the fantasy season. Gore will continue to carry the load for the Niners, and Kaepernick has also established a role for himself.
