The Arizona Cardinals have announced that John Skelton will resume duties as the starting quarterback, beginning this week against the Seattle Seahawks. Skelton was named the starter in preseason after a battle with Kevin Kolb, then lost the job to Kolb after getting hurt in Week 1 against the Hawks. Skelton regained the job after Kolb went down with a rib injury and then was benched in favor of rookie Ryan Lindley after several ineffective starts.

Even more ineffective was Lindley, throwing 0 TD and 5 INT in two starts.
Arizona has lost eight straight games, is 32nd in the NFL in scoring at 15.5 points per game, and as a team have thrown 10 TD and 13 INT, 8 of those touchdowns coming from Kolb. Skelton is completing 54.7% of his passes with 2 TD and 5 INT in six games.
Fantasy Take: Has there ever been a mess as bad as the Cardinals passing game? Skelton and Lindley are arguably the two worst quarterbacks to start a game in the NFL this season, to the point where they've been benched for each other now. This could be better news for Larry Fitzgerald, who totaled four catches for 54 yards in the two games that Lindley started.
In what's been his worst statistical season since he was a rookie, Fitzgerald has not been done any favors by the coaching staff with this carousel. Brandon Browner will begin a four-game suspension this week, weakening the Seahawks secondary, but they'll still have Richard Sherman, who is appealing his own four-game suspension.
Kevin Kolb's rehab has hit a wall and he may not be expected to return this year. There's a chance that none of these three quarterbacks will be back in 2013. That could be great news for Fitzgerald, depending on who is starting next year.
