Ronnie Hillman May Sit Out Broncos Preseason Opener: Fantasy Implications
Ronnie Hillman may miss the Denver Broncos’ preseason opener against the Chicago Bears with a hamstring injury, the Denver Post reports. The rookie running back isn’t expected to make a major fantasy impact this year.

Analysis: Hillman currently sits third on the depth chart behind Willis McGahee and Lance Ball after being taken out of San Diego State during the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. It'd be a lot to ask of the rookie to become a reliable fantasy contributor in standard leagues this season, assuming McGahee and Ball stay healthy. Hillman also has to contend for carries with Knowshon Moreno, who has slipped down the depth chart as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered last November.
Even if Moreno becomes vaporware, however, don’t expect Hillman to see the field too often except perhaps on third downs.
