Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith did not indicate on Monday that running back Steven Jackson would be ready to practice this week. This puts his status in doubt for next Sunday's Week 7 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Steven Jackson unlikely to practice, remains in fantasy limbo
The Falcons still aren’t sure if Steven Jackson will practice this week even after their bye. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jackson hasn't played since suffering a hamstring injury in the Week 2 win over the St. Louis Rams. He missed three games in a row and has yet to take the practice field. The Rams have been using a rotation of Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling in his absence. Jackson has just 130 total yards and one touchdown in two games this season.
Fantasy impact: The Falcons are coming off a Week 6 bye, so it’s concerning that Jackson still isn’t ready to practice yet even after the week off. With the Falcons’ season circling the drain, the 30-year-old may not be in a hurry to rush back into game action. Fantasy owners shouldn’t count on him coming back in Week 7 and should look elsewhere for RB2/Flex production. Jackson is quickly setting up as a free agent bust for Atlanta.
