Manningham would immediately step into the No. 2 wide receiver role ahead of Kyle Williams, but it sounds like there is zero chance he plays in Week 7 and it even seems unlikely he's ready to go for Week 8 as well.
The 49ers have a bye in Week 9, and Manningham making his return following that week off seems like a smart bet.
