Fantasy football rankings: Running backs for Week 7 in PPR and standard leagues

Week 7 running back rankings goes over the injuries and shows the top-50 backs for PPR and standard leagues.

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

Before we get down to the rankings, let’s go over some of the noteworthy backs that are on the mend and are on the injury report:

Steven Jackson — The word on the street is S-Jax will not be able to give it a go against the Bucs on Sunday. The good news is that he hasn’t been ruled out, so his chances for Week 8 could be pretty good.

Atlanta's offensive line hasn't looked good so far and the team ranks just 29th in total rushing yards. Although, the loss of Julio Jones combined with Roddy White being banged up suggests that the team will have to run more. Owners might want to float a buy-low deal for Jackson. Jacquizz Rodgers will start and is a FLEX play.

Jonathan Stewart — Coach Ron Rivera still doesn't know how long until Stew can come back. We don't even know if he can golf. He could be out FORE the season. Mike Tolbert is gaining value and DeAngelo could have himself a nice afternoon against the Rams.

DeMarco Murray — Murray is likely out Sunday with a knee injury. He has a sprained MCL, so he could be looking at closer to a month on the sidelines, especially considering how often he's hurt.

The team is also expected to be without Lance Dunbar due to a hamstring, so it's going to be the Joseph Randle show on Sunday. He's a low-end RB2 in most formats.

Joique Bell — He has bruised ribs and there's little doubt he will miss Sunday's big game against the Bengals. Reggie Bush should still carry the load, but Bell is certainly an option to think about in PPR leagues or deeper standard formats.

Shane Vereen — He still has a cast on his wrist and isn't close to returning. Although, if you're sitting pretty in the standings, you might want to grab him.

David Wilson — He's expected to be out for close to a month, so Brandon Jacobs stole the show with a two-TD, 100-yard game on Thursday in Week 6. The team also brought on Michael Cox from the practice squad, so he'll be worth monitoring. Wilson should remain owned in all leagues.

Marshawn Lynch — He has an ankle injury, but he's going to play on Thursday. Start him.
