The Minnesota Vikings have announced that Josh Freeman will be their starting quarterback for the team's Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants. Freeman was signed by the Vikings shortly after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but was inactive this past week as he was still too new to the playbook.
Josh Freeman to start for Vikings in Week 7, fantasy value up in the air
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman will start in Week 7. We break down the fantasy implications.

Early reports on Wednesday suggested the Vikings needed to see more from Freeman this week before naming him the starter, but apparently there is not much confidence in the other quarterbacks in Minnesota. Freeman was having a very poor season in Tampa Bay, with a 45.7 completion percentage, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Still, Freeman has been good in the past, and has a big arm. He can make the throws to Minnesota's receivers, and with the help of Adrian Peterson, the burden won't be all on him. It's just about whether or not he can minimize mistakes.
Fantasy Impact: If you’re a fantasy owners and you held on to Freeman, there are worse things you can do in a deep league than start him on Monday. He has the potential to flourish in Minnesota, even if it seems unlikely. One deterrent is that he’ll likely be working with a smaller playbook, narrowed down to some basic plays and things of that nature. It’s unlikely he has the full thing down at this point.
