Unfortunately, Olsen was held to just two receptions for 19 yards against the Minnesota Vikings. He looked a bit slow and sluggish, as evidenced by the fact that he had his worst game this season. Quarterback Cam Newton had a big day, but Olsen was not in on any of the big plays.
Olsen has caught at least four passes for at least 50 yards in each of his games, sans the Week 6 matchup. It’s unclear if he suffered a setback or if the walking boot is just precautionary on Wednesday, but it’s a worrying sign. The Panthers were very much enjoying his career resurgence.
Fantasy Impact: Olsen hasn’t been the top tight end in the NFL, but for fantasy owners who were expecting a low TE2 option for deeper leagues, he’s been a huge success. Unfortunately, if he’s not healthy by Friday’s practice, he could miss the team’s Week 7 game, and even if he does play, he might just be limited by the injury again.
