New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is officially inactive for the Week 8 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Peyton Hillis will get his second straight start in the Giants backfield.
Brandon Jacobs inactive, Peyton Hillis fantasy value up
Peyton Hillis will enter his second week as the Giants starting running back. We break down the fantasy implications.

Hillis rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in Week 7 against the Vikings. He also hauled in four receptions for 45 yards in the 23-7 victory. Michael Cox should be in the mix for carries as well.
Fantasy impact: If you’re scrambling for a last-minute flex option, Hillis isn’t a terrible idea. He grinded out 36 yards in his first game back, but he admitted after the game that he needs a few weeks to get in shape. Hillis thought his career was “probably over” earlier this year.
The Eagles rank No. 12 in the league against the run, but their pass defense in horrendous. Expect Hillis to see some goal line touches, and hope he punches one of those into the end zone. That’s the best bet for him. PPR owners will be happy to see him catch a few passes as well.
